My Reaction to The Woman in the Yard Movie Trailer!
The Woman in the Yard movie has a new trailer. It gives us a fresh look at this mysterious upcoming psychological thriller. A family living on a farm is terrorized by an unknown woman dressed entirely in black. The specter, who is wearing a traditional widow funeral outfit that covers her entire body, delivers a terrifying warning and shows her hands, which are covered in blood.
Blumhouse did a solid job keeping this trailer from revealing too much. We get only a slight taste of what this movie’s about, but enough to feel the film’s eerie atmosphere. Maybe studios are finally getting smarter about what to show, and not show, in trailers.
When the sun is bright, and the wind is still, she comes to you like a sudden chill. Draped in black from head to toe. How she got there, you’ll never know.
The trailer certainly makes me curious to learn more. Is the woman a ghost, or a demon perhaps? Why has she targeted this family? It seems like this story could go in a lot of directions.
One of the most intriguing things about this movie is that it’s not a sequel or adaption of any kind. We don’t get enough original works these days. The concept looks innovative. I can’t think of another movie that closely resembles this story. It’s also fun that the woman appears during the day. In many horror movies, it feels like the characters are safe until nightfall. Clearly, that’s not the case here!
The Woman in the Yard is being released on March 28th. It’s directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan) and stars Danielle Deadwyler (I Saw the TV Glow). Here’s the trailer:
