Ready Or Not 2 Cast Adds Big Names!
A Killer Cast
Production is ramping up for the long awaited sequel to the surprise hit Ready or Not (2019). Samara Weaving will, of course, return as Grace. According to Variety, she will be joined in the Ready or Not 2 cast by Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood.
As previously reported, Kathryn Newton is also taking on a supporting role. That’s two of my favorite modern scream queens in the same movie!
This is a hell of a cast: four well-known actors with extensive horror experience. It’s a testament to the success of the directorial duo Radio Silence that they’ve been able to compile so many A-list performers. After their breakthrough hit Ready or Not, Radio Silence achieved more success with Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023).
Ready or Not 2‘s official title is Ready or Not: Here I Come. Clever! With the key players from the original returning, and some exciting new additions, this looks like a promising venture.
The plot and release date are TBA
Ready or Not‘s ending doesn’t seem conducive to a sequel. How is Radio Silence going to continue this story in a way that doesn’t feel contrived? That’s probably the biggest challenge they face.
Are there other surviving relatives from the crazy family who will target Grace? Is she so unlucky that she’ll marry into another, completely separate crazy family? I honestly have no idea what the story is going to be.
There is no official release date. Filming is currently underway, so an announcement may not be far off. It would be great for the Halloween 2025 season, but that will be a challenging turnaround time. My guess is it will premiere sometime next year.
