Check Out The First Pics From Fear Street Prom Queen Netflix!
The first pics of the upcoming Fear Street: Prom Queen Netflix movie are out! Netflix has launched its promotional campaign for the new installment, which comes out this summer.
This is the first Fear Street movie since the Netflix trilogy premiered in Summer 2021. Those movies were set in the ’90s, ’70s and 1600s. Prom Queen features a mysterious killer who is targeting the contestants of a 1988 prom queen competition. Unlike the previous movies, Prom Queen is based directly on one of R.L. Stine’s original novels, The Prom Queen.
Netflix released five intriguing pics (including the one above). Here are the rest:
We see someone, presumably the killer, poring over a school yearbook, a stare down between two girls, a couple of people running down a hallway, and a girl being menaced by someone in a red trench coat. The black gloves and trench coat are giving me giallo vibes. Very cool!
I’m really excited for this! As I wrote about here, I’ve been a Fear Street fan since the original ’90s book series. It’s taken four years for another Fear Street movie to get made, and I was worried it was never going to happen. But Fear Street lives on!
I would love to see more Fear Street novels adapted into films. Halloween Party, anyone? Or how about Lights Out? So many possibilities! Hopefully, Fear Street Prom Queen will be a success so Netflix can keep churning these out.
Netflix also announced the cast. India Fowler, Ella Rubin, Chris Kline, Suzanna Son Lili Taylor, Katherine Waterston, Fina Strazza, and David Iacono will all star. Most likely will be students or teachers at Shadyside High.
Fear Street Prom Queen premieres in Summer 2025. Netflix hasn’t released the exact date yet.
