Predator: Badlands Trailer Breakdown
The full official Predator: Badlands trailer has dropped! This is going to be a different type of Predator movie. Badlands is unlike anything we’ve seen from this series before. This time, a Predator is the protagonist. This will be the first movie about the species’ home planet.
Thia (Elle Fanning), an android, is accompanying a young Predator, a rookie warrior who has been cast out of his clan. The duo must hunt and conquer a dangerous monster.
Dan Trachtenberg, who resurrected the franchise with Prey (2022), has created this self-contained installment to explore the world and culture of the Predator creatures.
The six previous movies (yes, there’s been *that* many, and that doesn’t even include Alien vs. Predator) glossed over this stuff. The Predators are still relatively mysterious, despite their pop culture icon status.

0:00-0:10 – We open with Tia getting rebooted. Why would the Predators chose to make an android that looks human? Wouldn’t it make more sense for them to create one that resembles their own species? And why would they have her speak English? I hope this is explained in the movie.
0:25-0:40 – Tia says that she and the Predator, who is on his first hunt, are on the most dangerous planet in the universe. That’s a hell of a first assignment. Has someone set him up to fail?
1:27-1:29 – A group soldiers, presumably androids, move through a building with guns drawn. I’m guessing that whoever planted the Predator and Tia on the planet are sending these ‘droids after them.
1:30 – The Predator speaks briefly in his native tongue. The studio hired a linguist to create a language for the Predators. Trachtenberg is definitely taking the world building seriously here.
Here’s the full Predator: Badlands trailer. The film hits theaters on November 7th. It will be the first theatrical installment since The Predator in 2018.
