Horror at the Box Office: Send Help Spends Another Weekend in the Top 5

In a humdrum weekend for horror and movies in general, Send Help was the highest grossing horror film at the box office yet again, grossing an estimated $4.5 million and finishing in fifth place in its fourth weekend. That’s a respectable drop of 49% from the previous weekend.
Send Help has earned over $55 million domestically and $83 million worldwide. The $40 million film could end up at around $100 million total by the end of its theatrical run.
Psycho Killer failed to scare up much money on its opening weekend. It earned an estimated $1.6 million, finishing in eleventh place. This movie may have performed better if it had been released closer to the Halloween season.
Horrendous reviews didn’t help. No wonder it wasn’t screened in advance for critics. Psycho Killer will inevitably disappear from theaters soon. Hopefully Georgina Campbell will have more success in future roles, like she did with Barbarian.

Ghostface will slash the competition next week as Scream 7 hits theaters. Ticket presales have been strong and the film could break the franchise record for the highest grossing opening weekend of the series. The current record holder is Scream VI (2023) which earned $44 million in its first weekend.
