Horror At The Box Office: 3 Movies in the Top Ten

Bring Her Back joined Final Destination: Bloodlines and Sinners to form a trifecta of horror films that finished within the top six this weekend. The highest-grossing was Bloodlines, which declined an impressive 44% in its third weekend for an estimated total of nearly $11 million, good enough for a fourth place finish.
It has grossed over $110 million domestically and approximately $230 million worldwide on a $50 million budget.
Bloodlines was followed by Bring Her Back, which scared up a respectable $7 million in fifth place. The $15 million budgeted film has received excellent reviews, which often (though not always) equates to high staying power in theaters.
If Bring Her Back does blossom into a major success, it will be a huge relief for A24. The usually well regarded indie horror studio has been beleaguered so far this year, with Death of a Unicorn posting disappointing grosses (although I enjoyed it) and Opus being one of 2025’s biggest flops.
Still showing glimmers of life in its sixth weekend, Sinners declined just $40% and added $5.2 million to its total, bringing it to a staggering $267 million domestically and over $350 million worldwide. It landed in sixth place this time. Sinners is coming out on digital, so it should be bowing out of theaters soon.
Looking Ahead

We are entering a horror drought, but not to fear: summer scares aren’t far away! Two potential hits are on the horizon: 28 Years Later (June 20th) and M3gan 2.0 (June 27th). The lack of new horror titles, and the gradual fading of Sinners and Bloodlines, could give an extra boost to Bring Her Back in the next couple weeks.
