Hell House LLC: Lineage Trailer Offers Fresh Approach for the Franchise

The fifth installment of the Hell House franchise is coming out in August, and it’s different from predecessors in multiple ways. The Hell House LLC: Lineage trailer teaser, which is all of 34 seconds long, gives us a quick glimpse of what to expect.
Unlike its predecessors, which went straight to streaming, Hell House LLC Lineage will premier in theaters before hitting Shudder in October.
Also, in a bold departure, Lineage is not a found footage movie. That’s right – this is a conventionally filmed production. I’m not sure I like this change. The found footage style helped add to the creepiness of the previous films.
Director Stephen Cognetti claims that this will be the last installment. I would take that with a grain of salt. Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire (2019) was also marketed as the franchise finale. Like any series, they’ll keep cranking ’em out if people keep watching them.
The cast of Hell House LLC: Lineage includes Elizabeth Vermilyea as returning character Vanessa Sheperd, a journalist who is haunted by terrifying visions that are connected to the haunted locations from the previous films, and Joe Bandelli as the infamous Hell House clown.
This time, Vanessa uncovers a shocking secret tying her to the paranormal events. The subtitle “lineage” makes me think that this is going to have a similar twist to Final Destination: Bloodlines.
Quick Takes on the Hell House LLC: Lineage Trailer
-0:00-0:10 – A family photo is shown and we learn that the family is connected through a tragedy involving a pickup truck that killed a young girl in 1989. Getting I Know What You Did Last Summer vibes here.
0:10-0:20 – This part of the trailer adds even more IKWYDLS vibes with the revelation that the people in the pickup truck were hunted down and punished.
0:20 – 0:30 – A woman in a car is terrified by something in her rear view mirror. It’s difficult to see, but it looks like the clown from the previous movies.
Hell House is an uneven series. I’m hoping this one lives up to The Carmichael Manor, which made my top ten best list of 2023. Hell House LLC Lineage haunts theaters on August 20th. Here’s the trailer:
