The latest Valentine’s Day Horror Flick!
Valentine’s Day horror movies are a quirky bunch. My Bloody Valentine, Picnic at Hanging Rock, and The Love Witch all have their own unique sensibilities when it comes to mixing romance with terror. Now, as we ramp up to Valentine’s day, we have a new Heart Eyes trailer.
A teaser for the upcoming slasher was released a couple of months ago, but it wasn’t until this week that the full trailer became available.
A mysterious Seattle serial killer is targeting couples on Valentine’s Day. His identity and motivation are unknown. Nobody seems capable of stopping him.
I live in the Seattle area and I tend to enjoy horror movies that are set around here (M3gan for example), so I’m looking forward to seeing this. Naturally, the trailer begins with a shot of the Space Needle followed by an image of a cup of coffee. We know what we’re known for around here!
Mason Gooding and Olivia Holt play a couple who find themselves in the maniac’s crosshairs. The Heart Eyes trailer doesn’t skimp on the gore. This is one nasty slasher. Being single on V-day will be an advantage this year!
The clichéd motivation for the villain would be that he snapped after enduring a traumatic setback in his love life. Hopefully, the movie will come up with something more original than that.
There aren’t many romantic comedy slasher movies. I like that this movie is an original concept and not another sequel, reboot, or remake.
I love the mask that the killer is wearing. It kind of reminds me of a scarecrow. The red, glowing heart eyes are a nice touch.
Not to stray off subject, but why aren’t there more horror movies about scarecrows? If you ask me, those damn things are just as creepy as dolls, mannequins, and ventriloquist dummies!
Heart Eyes looks like it will have plenty of humor, gore, and thrills. It’s going to be released in theaters on February 7th. Here’s the trailer:
