Happy Death Day 3 Announced!

It’s Finally Happening. Really!
Happy Death Day is getting a third installment. According to Bloody Disgusting, director Christopher Landon and series star Jessica Rothe announced Happy Death Day 3 at a double feature for the two existing installments.
The original Happy Death Day (2017) chronicles the plight of Tree Gelbman, a rowdy college student who is ensnared in a time warp similar to Bill Murray’s character in the famous comedy Groundhog Day.
She lives the same day over and over, each time being killed in a different way by the mysterious Babyface Killer. Tree always comes back, but the damage adds up. She fears that she will permanently die if she can’t break the cycle.

Happy Death Day was followed by a bizarre sequel, Happy Death Day 2 U (2019). Tree gets stuck in a time loop again, but this installment avoids repeating the plot of the first film. Instead of Groundhog Day, the second movie takes inspiration from the Back to the Future trilogy.
Instead, it incorporates quantum physics, parallel universes, time travel, and multiple versions of the Babyface Killer from alternate dimensions. The sequel wasn’t as well received, and I honestly did not think there would ever be a third film. But never say never!
What will the plot be? Will it take inspiration from another sci-fi comedy? The third installment, which is tentatively titled Happy Death Day to Us, could go in countless directions. The only elements that are certain to be included are Tree, a time loop, and the Babyface Killer.
Tree was in college in both previous movies. My guess is we’ll see an older and more mature Tree. Maybe she gets stuck in a time loop while at work or on a business trip? Maybe she’s married and/or has kids?
Happy Death Day 3 hasn’t started production yet. The release date is TBA. More info will hopefully be released soon.
