My Thoughts on the Death of a Unicorn Trailer!
The Death of a Unicorn trailer delivers an intriguing look at what is sure to be one of 2025’s most unique horror movies! It stars Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd as Ridley and Elliot, a daughter and father who accidentally hit a unicorn with their car.
After Elliot’s boss and his wealthy family discover the unicorn, they seek to exploit its magical properties. Ridley and Elliot, who are just trying to survive, are caught in the middle.
A killer unicorn? Hell yeah! Why haven’t we seen this before? Seriously! Unicorns have been criminally underused in horror movies. Maybe it could battle a centaur in a sequel!
I’m hoping that it will impale at least one person with its horn. The movie has to include that at some point, right? It would be a shame to miss that opportunity.
The Death of a Unicorn trailer implies that the adult unicorn is searching for its child, which apparently has been captured by the family. Looks like we’re getting at least two unicorns in this movie!
I’m surprised, but pleased, to see that this is an A24 film. They usually make bleak, artsy elevated horror movies. The trailer makes Death of a Unicorn look campy and silly, which is not at all what A24 is known for. Maybe they’re shifting gears, or perhaps this movie will be darker than expected.
Death of a Unicorn is expected to hit screens in the spring. An exact date has not been released yet.
